〔Screen Printer〕How to solve the screen sticking issue in screen printers?

Column:FAQ Brand: Hengchuanqi Service Hotline:+86-13352849401

The screen sticking issue in screen printing can be comprehensively resolved through the following methods:

I. Environmental and Process Adjustments

- Temperature & Humidity Control

Maintain workshop temperature at around 24°C and humidity at ~65% to avoid abnormal ink viscosity rise due to high temperature and low humidity. In summer, adjust to 20-25°C and 50-60% humidity.

- Mesh Distance & Tension Optimization

Adjust mesh distance (between screen and substrate) based on product size; overly small distance prolongs separation time, causing sticking.

Regularly check screen tension; re-stretch screens when tension is insufficient (recommended: 26±1.5N/cm).

II. Ink & Operation Specifications

- Ink Parameter Adjustment

Add thinner to reduce viscosity, or use slow-drying solvents.

Avoid resin inks with low softening points; choose fast-drying types.

- Squeegee Parameter Calibration

Set squeegee pressure to 20-60N/cm² and angle to 60-75° for uniform ink transfer.

Replace worn squeegee rubber strips to prevent excessively thick ink films.

III. Cleaning & Maintenance

- Thorough Screen Cleaning

Remove residual ink immediately after printing with a special cleaner; gently brush stubborn clogs with a soft brush. Rinse water-based inks with plenty of water, and oil-based inks with screen wash.

- Plate Making & Drying Management

Ensure moderate photoresist film thickness during plate making; extend UV exposure for sufficient film cross-linking.

Fully dry printed items before stacking to avoid adhesion of undried ink films.

IV. Substrate & Design Adaptation

Check substrate surface flatness to avoid local sticking caused by unevenness.

Optimize layout design for multi-layer overprinting to reduce contact pressure in overprint areas.

These measures can systematically reduce sticking issues. If problems persist, check ink-substrate compatibility.
