What is an electric heating film?

The low-temperature radiant electric heating film system consists of a power supply, thermostat, connectors, insulating layer, electric heating film, and finishing layer. The power supply connects to the electric heating film via wires, converting electrical energy into heat. As the electric heating film forms a pure resistance circuit, its conversion efficiency is high—with only ~2% loss, approximately 98% is converted into heat. 

Electric heating film heating is one of the world's most advanced heating methods. It is a new type of heating that uses electricity as energy and transfers heat through low-temperature infrared radiation. It features excellent properties such as high voltage resistance, moisture resistance, a wide temperature tolerance range, high toughness, low shrinkage, safe operation, and ease of storage and transportation. It has been applied in South Korea, the United States, and other countries for over 20 years, with extensive application fields, and first entered China in the 1990s. 

Electric heating film has huge development potential, aligning with the trend of low-carbon economic development. Its heating method consumes no water, occupies no space, allows independent on/off control, saves energy and materials, and complies with emission reduction and low-carbon policy orientations, boasting broad prospects. Experts predict that the introduction of relevant technical standards not only means that eco-friendly and economical electric heating film heating will enter more households faster but also signifies the revitalization of the electric heating film heating industry and the arrival of a low-carbon development era for the heating industry. 

Since the press conference for the release and implementation of the *Industry Standard of the People's Republic of China for Construction Industry: Low-Temperature Radiant Electric Heating Film* and the awarding ceremony of the standardization demonstration base was held in Beijing, the standard has been officially implemented on January 1, 2011. China National Radio, a top media outlet, specially reported on the officially implemented *Low-Temperature Radiant Electric Heating Film*, referring to it as China's first product performance standard for the electric heating film industry, with the standardization demonstration base as the unit. Electric heating film heating has advantages such as no water consumption, energy saving, land saving, material saving, environmental friendliness, adjustable on/off control, and ease of household-based metering, conforming to the low-carbon direction.
